FILM/DODGE

Coming into my freshman year here at Chapman, was frightening. I knew I was going to be able to make connections, but the thought of working on set freaked me out. Were the directors going to be kind? Were they going to be professional or not? These were the questions that kept me up at night. My orientation leader got me onto the Chapman Casting Connection Facebook page, a page where calls are put up for auditions. Not knowing what to expect, I signed up to audition for a film called “My House,” and the audition could not have gone better, the director, producer, and writer are three of the kindest people I have ever met. We still hang out and are close today! That film gave me the confidence to audition for other projects, and I worked on five last semester, including a thesis. I am grateful for the production of “My House" for giving me a space to create and feel welcome at such a young age.
